Honor the Governor’s Honor - an original short film, Written & Directed by Corey Bradberry
A missing girl. A meddling ex. And a detective who left his morals in his other coat.

director’s note
In Honor the Governor’s Honor, down-on-his-luck P.I. Gil T. Hunter is dragged into a high-society mystery gone sideways. With standout performances and lush noir visuals, this comedy plays it straight-faced—so the laughs land even harder.
Our comedy noir short is a love letter to classic film noir, filtered through a comedic lens and reframed with a modern voice—one that puts an Asian-American lead in the trench coat of a traditionally white, hard-boiled detective. I’ve always enjoyed a genre-bending approach, regardless of the performance medium.
I wanted to make something that was sharp, stylish, and genuinely funny, no matter the budget. We focused on strong design with lush visuals, standout performances, and a terrific script that balances mystery with comedy.
