THE SHOW
THE AUDIENCE EXPERIENCE
Director’s Note
Another favorite: we built on the wild success of Murder! at The Strand and took it into the realm of science-fiction: an eccentric scientist, set to display a wondrous new technology, has disappeared hours before the presentation is scheduled to begin! Audience members once again move through all four floors of the historic art deco Earl and Rachel Smith Strand Theatre, seeking out characters and interviewing them either individually or in small groups, solving both analog and digital puzzles along the way, and racing against time to discover as much as possible before re-assembling as a group at the end to make a choice and solve the mystery.
Jeremy Ledbetter’s impeccable programming design brought several interaction stations to life, while Elizabeth Jarrett’s visual design on an interdimensional fog monster defied expectations and wowed audiences walking underneath it.

Director’s Note:
“Like playing a video game, in real life.” An immersive, interactive murder mystery set over four floors of the historic art deco Earl and Rachel Smith Strand Theatre. Featuring a cast of over twenty playing a cast of actors living out a disastrous final dress rehearsal, audience members move freely about the theatre solving puzzles and interrogating characters, attempting to identify the murderer out of six possible suspects.
Each night’s performance featured a different local celebrity ‘death’! This was an incredibly innovative project for The Strand, which used the show as a way for audience members to explore rarely-seen areas of the theatre, including dressing rooms and inner staircases. There’s no telling where a clue would turn up!
This project was so successful it The Strand commissioned a remount the following summer.

Producer’s Note:
I felt like Kermit the Frog programming this evening of delightful entertainment! Accompanying an incredible music performance by Blair Crimmins & the Hookers, I booked and rehearsed a true “10-spot” of talent including a ‘live’ ventriloquist, vaudeville comedians, and a crowd-pleasing finale combining broken glass and a sledgehammer!
I’ve produced many fun events like this since then, but this one always sticks out in my mind as one of the most fun all-around.
